Jackets required anywhere in vegas?

Hi guys, starting to pack for a month of fun in the USA with teens and hubby. Staying in Vegas for 6 days ( Venetian) and wondering if hubby will need a jacket for any of the poker rooms, restaurants shows or casinos

We plan to dress well but not sure what the deal is with Vegas- does anything go or are there strict dress codes for some places.

We are planning a few fine dining meals and hubby wants to have a night or 2 of poker ( as you do when in Vegas) .

Also has anyone been on the Helicopter called ECO- thru Best Las vegas Tours?

Any restaurants that stand out for either food or veiws. Have booked Olives for pre theatre, have a list that I may try...here we go..

please let me know if any should be added or deleted!!!

Dress codes at Vegas restaurants are suggestions, nothing more than that. You certainly wouldn%26#39;t be turned away unless you were ridiculously unpresentable. A lot comes down to how comfortable you feel or otherwise.

No dress codes whatsoever for casinos, poker rooms or shows.

Thanks Blagger- will probably pack nice jacket for him anyway - just in case nights get chilly in October in NYC and San Fran

I%26#39;ve eaten dinner at Picasso, Prime, Mon Abi Gabi, Top of the World, and Delmonico - all without wearing a jacket. I would consider MAG to be the least dressy. However, you wouldn%26#39;t look out of place at any of these 5 by wearing a jacket.

some of those might require at least dressy attire if not a jacket. mon ami, emerils, francescos def. would not. but as far as italian there are better than the one at TI %26amp; for cheaper too.

for shows - no dress code that i%26#39;ve seen

we didn%26#39;t like Olives but most do. I woud if you are seeing O - its amazing! and we are going again in 2 months.

have fun!

If it helps, here%26#39;s my review of Emerils from my trip with mom and wife in May. I wore shorts and a polo shirt as was very comfortable even though the website said ';Business casual';

Emerils:

5:30 reservations for 5. Friends of ours were at the Tropicana and joined us.

Wheeled mom down to the front of the restaurant. Took pictures. People milled around. No one could be seated before 5:30. When 5:30 hit, they called names one at a time. This took way too long. They had like 6 people working and milling around, but only one seating? People could have been seated much faster as seats are in 2 different directions around the bar. George Kramer (Seinfeld?) was called 6 times and no answer. SKIP the bast#@d and seat us....lol

Impatient aren%26#39;t I? =)

Again we get one waiter and 2 people bringing beverages and clearing plates. Good amount of staff.

Ice teas $2 each, Coke $2.50, Hot tea: $3

Each person receives a roll and a piece of cornbread. Tastey

Appetiser: BBQ Shrimp. ($12 each) Mom and I both loved these!

3 Emeril%26#39;s House Salad -

Assorted Organic Baby Lettuces tossed with Pepper Jack Cheese, Marinated Sun Dried Tomatoes, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar and Spiced Croutons ($10 each) I forget mom only likes Caesars or head lettuce. She shoves plate away and doesn%26#39;t want it. It%26#39;s okay, she%26#39;s still half full from lunch.

3 Surf and Turfs specials ($50 each). Don%26#39;t remember what the steak was, but it melted like butter in your mouth. Had some sort of topping smothering it. Again the taste just melted on the tongue. The shrimp was very large and very good. 4 or 5 pieces if I remember right.

One Louisiana Cedar Plank Campfire Steak - Creole spiced and smothered with the Trinity with Country Smashed Potatoes and drizzled with a Warm Remoulade and a hint of Emeril%26#39;s Homemade Worcestershire Sauce $40 Friend enjoyed this.

Remember when ordering that medium well here looks more like medium to medium rare with lots of red in center (not pink) We needed 3 of our medium well cooked more.

Now mom all of a sudden wasn%26#39;t hungry...she had something called Chimichurri. Can%26#39;t find the description. Large shrimp and scallops. Now, even here in Monterey, I usually don%26#39;t eat scallops. Just never had any that tasted good. I tried moms. GOD they were delicious. so THIS is how a perfect scallop should taste? I scarfed every last one. Ate her shrimp too. Wasn%26#39;t letting anything go to waste.

One compaint. It took forever to get the entries to the table. Not just me. Everyone at the table began to wonder..

Other than that, the food was excellent!

$312.12 plus tip for 5 people.

Thanks ALL!
