Hi
We are flying via Vegas to Florida next March. We have 4 or 5 nights in Vegas, and haven%26#39;t been since 1985!!
OBviously we won%26#39;t be gambling, but shopping, theatres and sightseeing great.
My head is dizzy looking from one Hotel to another -I like a decent quality clean room, pool, near to everything- we have looked at Signature at MGM, Wynn, but I am open to any ideas?
Few days in Vegas with 14 yr old
I first went to Vegas in 86 and it%26#39;s now virtually a parallel universe to what it was like then. Just remove everything from your memory banks and prepared to be amazed!
What sort of approx total budget are you looking for to cover your accommodation? Also what dates in March are you looking at? Are you including a weekend in those dates?
Sorry to ask for all this information but rates vary hugely. A room that%26#39;s say $149 per night Sunday thru Thursday can easily be $399 per night on Friday and Saturday. Vegas hotel rates function purely on supply and demand and March tends to be a very busy and therefore expensive month. This is due to the large number of conventions, spring break and big sports events like March Madness and NASCAR.
I wouldn%26#39;t worry too much about a hotel with a great pool. Weather in March is very erratic and it%26#39;s far from certain you%26#39;ll get warm enough temps for the pool. And be prepared for some posts telling you that Vegas is no place for a 14 year old under any circumstances!

I think I would rather take one year old triplets to Disneyland.
You have a wonderful opportunity here. You didn%26#39;t say if you have a boy or girl. anyway, Give him a digital camera with a 1 GB card and tell him to shoot photos of everything that isn%26#39;t a show. Seven years from now he will be on the forum asking questions and waiting til the day when he returns to Vegas . He can take photos of you at all your favorite spots.
Don%26#39;t forget at least one trip downtown at night for FSE.

Hi
We have taken our teenagers lots of times and they have a ball everytime. We also don%26#39;t worry about gambling. We have stayed a couple of times at the Orleans, athough it is not on the strip, there is a shuttle if you are not hiring a car. They have a great bowling ally and pictures plus a really nice pool area if you are lucky with the weather We found getting to the strip no hassle, we did have a car but sometimes used the shuttle.
On strip I would not go to Circus Circus as it has such bad reviews and the kids that stay there are in general not well behaved and some looked dumped by their parents while they gamble. A visit though for your child may go down well.
Our next visit is on our own so we may stay at the Wynn although if it wasn%26#39;t for work commitments we would be bringing our youngest. He loved going to the Wynn this year to eat. If your child likes a bit of luxury then go to the Wynn.

This past March i took my 2 nieces 13 %26amp; 14. We stayed 2 nights at Mirage and 2 nights at MGM. They preferred MGM. Maybe because their main goal was to meet Criss Angel at the Luxor, and MGM was closer. As for the pool blagger is right, March will be hit or miss for pool weather. The 1 day we did go to the pool it was mid 70%26#39;s and after an hour they had had enough. I have read many post here against taking kids to Vegas. I have taken all my nieces many times and they all love it. They love the shopping, shows and the restaurants. They had a blast just checking out the hotels.
THanks -I know what people mean about being an odd place to take a child, but I agree -with the hotels shows etc there is plenty to see, and its only a few days -Thursday to Monday
haven%26#39;t got a budget [athough would like to stay this side of extortion if poss]
Want to make it enjoyable.........
