Casual dining near MGM?

Going to a concert at MGM arena and would like to have dinner before the show. Any suggestions for casual dining $20 per person range close to MGM? I was looking at the Rainforest Cafe at MGM but my research of previous posts did not come up with positive comments so looking for something else.

Casual dining near MGM?

Goto the burger bar at Mandalay place- you walk over to NYNY, cross over to Excalibur and shutte down to Mandalay. Great food at this place- no more than 10 minutes to get there.

Casual dining near MGM?

on a concert night anything in or near MGM will be packed. I don;t consider burger bar ';near'; - it%26#39;s about a 15 min walk with the crowds on a concert night. if time is not a problem for you and you don%26#39;t mind taking a long time for your casual meal there are plenty of places.

You might consider eating before hitting the MGM area - someplace where the concert crowd will be less. Where will you be before the MGM, and do you have a car? that will help us. Something like terrible%26#39;s is cheap and easy to get to MGM, although not on strip. on strip maybe something like grand lux at venetian. all depends on where you will starting and how much time you have. On concert nights I never eat near MGM - just too crowded - i hate wasting time - and waiting 60 min for a burger not for me. You might not care about time.

Also, when going to the concert we enter from the rear of MGM directly to the venue - avoid the casino and hotel all together.

Great advice from bridgefan. I have been at MGM many times when there were fights or concerts and the casino/lobby/studiowalk area is a zoo.

Maybe Harley Davidson Cafe would fit the bill also. Can%26#39;t speak for the food, but I imagine it is in your price range and relative proximity.

Try going across the bridge to NY NY.

There are so many little places you can eat at, also there is the America restaurant which isn%26#39;t too bad.

Eat at the 24 hr cafe%26#39; in your own hotel. Most of these have good food, in the nicer hotels.

Then you can go up to the room to freshen up, before heading to MGM

I agree with Tiffani - America at NYNY is a good choice.

Also agree that most places in MGM will be packed for dinner before the concert. I also like the suggestion of eating at your hotel or nearby beforehand. Where are you staying?

(Also not fond of Rainforest)

Calypso cafe at the Tropicana would be a good option if you don%26#39;t fancy NYNY. Good menu selection, nothing fancy and definately within budget. Again it%26#39;s just a walk over the bridge back to MGM.

Agree with comments on Rainforest Cafe - overpriced and not that great, unless of course, your have kids with you....

oh no! I said the k-word!

Calyso%26#39;s has been renamed the Garden Cafe, I think - still 24 hour.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I should have realized, but didn%26#39;t until you brought it to my attention, that MGM is proabably not the best option on a night of a concert. I checked out America at NYNY on their website and that looks like a good option. Planning on doing Grand Lux the night we go to Mystere since it is just across the street. After reading Bridgefan 1%26#39;s tip I%26#39;m thinking a cab straight to the arena entrance might be a time saver also.
