Leaving Friday for our first stay at the Mirage. MGM Players Club has comped us 3 nights in a standard room. Despite my offers to pay for an upgrade to a Tower Deluxe room or a Petite Suite -- no doing. What chance if any, do I stand to pay for the upgrade when I check-in (late Friday night) or should I just be thankful for what I have? It seems like if you book through Casino Marketing, the hotel, itself, is not willing to work with you.
Has anyone had similar experience?

I had a similar experience at MGM (not Mirage but same company.) I asked if I could pay for an upgrade and I was told I had to go to casino marketing and see if i qualified. I tried to explain that I wasn%26#39;t looking to be upgraded for free but I was told it HAD to be done through casino marketing. Luckily I just wanted to go to a West Wing room and I was switched over without a fuss but if I had wanted a suite I got the feeling no one was going to help me out.... I didn%26#39;t try that hard though.
