Boulder City

We planning a trip to Vegas next spring. We plan to visit Hoover Dam and I was wondering if there is anything worth seeing in Boulder City while we are out that way? We aren%26#39;t really interested in going to Lake Mead for water sports.

Boulder City

I cant think of a single thing other then water sports, there are NO casinos in Boulder City. Small town, some restaurants, a few hotels and golf course.

Boulder City

BC is just a sleepy little bedroom community that was established to house the workers that were constructing the dam. I used to eat at a Mexican reastaurant when I lived in Vegas but other than that and play an inexpensive round of golf, it was a town to pass through on the way to Arizona. It has a high % of LDS residents making it a fairly conservative community, but as far as anything to see there I cant think of anything.

Other than golf and lake activities really nothing there. However you can say if you go there you were in a city where every registered resident that pays property tax is a millionaire.

Thanks for the info. I receive a brochure from them in the mail, but it didn%26#39;t look very appealing, so I thought I ask here in case I was missing something.

Wow, every property tax payer is a millionaire? Is this fact related to the building of the dam?

Sorry I made a mistake; it is every single resident, not property tax payers, so every man woman and child who resides there.

Cant%26#39; recall if it went through or not, but the city of Boulder put a ballet up to sell 107,000 (Eldorado Valley) acres to developers that will bring in from 15 to 50 Billion dollars or 1 to 3 million for every resident as of March 31, 2006. There was some objection by tree huggers to preserve the land for turtles if you can believe that. At the time of the proposal the land was worth $750,000 per acre and would be sold to the highest bidder.

10% of the proceeds is earmarked to pay off all city debt, build a new bypass around the city, and build out all new schools. The remaining 90 % to be spit among all residents equally.

Vegashomeboy, I never seem to be in the right place at the right time!

What if I rent a space to put up a tent and live there? Can I have a mil?

the ballot never went to the voters as it was illegal as for the treehuggers it has more to do with the fact that boulder city does not want a massive housing development on the outskirts of town

if passing thru boulder city check out milos good spot to sit outside and have a glass of wine or 2 and if you are there on veterans day or memorial day check out the veterans cemetary they put a flag on each marker it is a great thing to see

if you like mountain biking bootleg canyon is well known for its great trails

3 golf courses including the fantastic (and expensive!) cascata

and do the speed limit everywhere!

Hi

Although there is little in Boulder, there is a free museum in the Boulder Hotel that is quite interesting. It has artifacts from the building of the Dam.
