Suite at Mandalay Bay Oct 19-21, How to get a ';secret'; rate

Hi there

Four ladies are heading to Vegas for a spa, pampering, party weekend Oct 19-21, 2007. We want to stay at Mandalay Bay because of it%26#39;s amazing atmosphere, or the Wynn.

I%26#39;ve looked up many promo codes on the web, but none are coming in that great for the weekend we want $330-$350/night at Mandalay Bay, and over $400 for Wynn.

Would anyone who goes often, or has a host be willing to hook us up with a contact on who could get us in? We%26#39;re not big spenders in the gambling area, but we need to be pampered.

My friend hasn%26#39;t been away from her 3 year old twins for even ONE NIGHT since they were born. I want to give her an amazing getaway and feel like a rockstar, heiress, or high roller.

Any help is much appreciated. Oh, and see my review on Tryst, from March... I can%26#39;t wait to go back!!!

Thanks

JR

you want what most visitors want - a great room without paying the going rate.

if the public promo codes are not working and you don%26#39;t have a host who knows your gambling history do you really expect to get a better rate? Hosts work on commission on your gambling. Since you have been to LV before I would suggest contacting the property you visited in march and see if the can offer you casino rate.

you have chosen a busy time and a week-end, as much as i can relate to the need for pampering i don%26#39;t think you understand the system well enough - you need to have a history to get good rates and you admit you don%26#39;t. Maybe change dates? or up budget? what about Palms, Monte Carlo - they might work.

Lets see. I tell my host to set up some people I don%26#39;t know but I do know that they don%26#39;t gamble. Oh but they want to be pampered and not pay for it. Yeah my host will be happy to call me an idiot or lose his job.

It%26#39;s a weekend prices are high especially for high end properties.

Unfortunately if you%26#39;re not going to be gambling, then hosts have got better things to do with their time than help you guys out. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it%26#39;s the way it is. The reason rates are so high are because it%26#39;s a busy weekend and more than enough people are willing to pay.

Again without being rude, you should never plan a Vegas trip without checking hotel rates first. Perhaps you should lower your sights regarding hotels or reschedule the trip for a time when rates are lower.

Ever got lucky in Vegas by someone%26#39;s nice gesture, like...

Got a free limo ride because the guy was nice?

Ever slipped someone a $20 to get into a club?

Got free passes because you happened to be in the right place at the right time?

Just looking for a nice person to reply.

I%26#39;m very good at getting good rates on the web, I thought there might be a hidden place to find promos and deals.

Have you tried fatwallet.com?

Many deals are posted there daily!

Well you got it.

Lowrance is about as nice as they come.

Too nice as far as I am concerned. But without him MGM might not be the best.

Can someone help get these people something for nothing?

Wasn%26#39;t there a song about that? ';Money for nothing and your chicks for free......'; =)

You don%26#39;t seem to get how the host thing works. They give free rooms and food to people who gamble alot. They don%26#39;t give deals to their friends and family and they sure as heck don%26#39;t give deals to internet pals who aren%26#39;t going to gamble enough to cover the discount. Even if someone could score a deal for you, they would jeopardize their own comp status because you will screw up there theoretical.

The simple reality is that weekends are expensive, October is expensive and Wynn and MB can be expensive. If $330 - $400 a night is tough for you to do, perhaps its time to change your expectations.

I didn%26#39;t say I%26#39;m not going to spend money at Mandalay Bay, I just don%26#39;t put it towards gambling. I%26#39;d rather spend my money on spa services, clubs, and fine dining.

';something for nothing'; is stretching it, don%26#39;t you think. I just asked for an little insider help.

I obviously misinterpretted the word host.

Thanks for all your ';enlightenment';

don%26#39;t bother replying.

Here%26#39;s more enlightenment.

Spending money on the things you want to do is not gambling and does not count. Spending money on things you will buy is not gambling. In Vegas the special offers are made to GAMBLERS. There now you know '; the secret'; and how to get it. Other than special offers for slow times it is very hard to get cheap rates on a weekend. Us people from CA fill up the place so they don%26#39;t have too have deals on weekends.
