Best (Cheap) Transportation Up and Down the Strip

I%26#39;m talking my daughter to Vegas for a mother/daughter trip...yes, she just turned 21. I%26#39;ve been to Vegas 1 time (last September) but was not able to figure out the best way to get around on the strip other than by foot.

What would you recommend as an easy/convenient and inexpensive means for travelling to the casinos up and down the strip? I want to take her to alot of the big casinos/hotels because they are just amazing and I want to cut out some of the walking if possible. I don%26#39;t mind to walk some but I was hoping there%26#39;s a bus system or something that%26#39;s easy to access. My brother told me there was a trolley or something but I didn%26#39;t see it when I was there? Is it still there? If so, where can you catch it and what%26#39;s the cost.

Appreciate any help you can provide. I can%26#39;t wait to get back to Ellis Island for the steak dinner special...and the breakfast is great there as well. We%26#39;re staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at the Flamingo...on the back side of the Flamingo property...so we%26#39;re at a good central point on the strip (and not a bad walk to Ellis Island).

The bus system you need is the Deuce.

The 24 hour $5 pass sounds right up your street. Be aware that it can get very crowded and slow at busy times.

The monorail may be worth your consideration also but some of the stations are a good walk from the Strip.

Best (Cheap) Transportation Up and Down the Strip

just back from our first vegas trip, we travelled up and down the strip all the time on the deuce bus. It stops outside most of the hotels and casinos and a 24 hour pass is $5 for that you can get on and off as many times as you want. It also goes as far as freemont st one way and at the other end you can travel to the outlet mall but you have to make a change of bus. It was crowed at times but people get on and off at every stop so we never had to stand for very long.

As you say, you are in a great part of the strip, if you and she are able (and I mean that in a nice way) I think it would be nice to walk to a lot of the the hotels, that way you get to stop and have a drink/eat/play some BJ or whatever, where you want along the way..... I%26#39;ve always found that to be so nice and you get to soak up more of the atmosphere.

Obviously if you want to save the footwork, then as Blagger says, the Deuce is the way to go - although don%26#39;t take it is you%26#39;re in a hurry.... lol

Trolley would not be a good option- I wonder how it manages to stay in business.

Be aware that the Deuce can be very unreliable. Twice we have waited 45 mins for a bus to arrive and of course it was packed when it finally did come.

If we had know it was going to be that long we would have taken the monorail instead.

Lulutoo, I often ask the same question, as I am the biggest spokesperson for ANYTHING but the trolley.

I call it the Gilligan%26#39;s Island Tour.

you remember Gilligan%26#39;s Island right?....It was supposed to be a 3 hour tour, and the show was on for 7 seasons....lol

';oh, your here for 3 days?...If you get on the Trolley now...you%26#39;ll never make the plane';
