Is the Monte Carlo a noisy mess?

I am getting ready to book for Halloween night. Has anyone stayed at the Monte Carlo recently? Is the City Center Project making it a mess? It looks like a very nice property.

Can anyone recomend an alt. hotel in the same price range? I need to be south strip. We don%26#39;t want to do the dumpy option this time. Last trip we did the Stat. and it sucked.

Any good info would help.

I know guests who were bothered by the noise at the pool. Since it is late oct that may not be a concern for you. Parking was also an issue. In general i think MC is one of the best value properties and would encourage you to stay if the price suited your budget, since other properties usually in that price range much worse - harrah%26#39;s, flam, excal, etc

That is a busy week-end, Vegoose always brings a young crowd, we love it and will attend some of the concerts - clearly much older than most of the attendees.

Thanks, for that info. I hope to pool is an option but it is very iffy that late in the year. I am still looking at options. We are young at hart but don%26#39;t want to the the only late 30%26#39;s in a croud of early to mid 20%26#39;s kids.

bridgefan - do you know if can you buy tickets for just single events for the vegoose event? We are only going to be in Vegas for two days, but my son really wants to see one or two of the bands.

We just stayed at the Monte Carlo in early Sept. We got a room in the back tower of the hotel and didn%26#39;t experience any noise issue from the construction. We heard more noise from the hallway than anything else, but it was a nice place to stay for the price.

Just got back form Monte Carlo last week. Our room faced MGM Grand at the very end of a hall, 21st floor. Didn%26#39;t hear any construction noise at all, even at the pool, although looking at the cranes and construction kind of hurt the view at the pool.

The only real issue was there is no longer any exit on the North side (near the Brew Pub) towards Bellagio if you%26#39;re on foot. You have to exit the South side of the casino by NYNY to get to the street. Taxis at the back/lobby entrance aren%26#39;t affected. We didn%26#39;t drive so can%26#39;t comment on parking.

Great comments. Thank you. We are holding a room now, if the comments continue to be good I think we are going for it. I will be sure to request a room at the south east side of the building. I seems like that would be a great view anyway.

We love Monte Carlo. We%26#39;ve been there several times since the City Center project has been underway and have had no issues with noise whatsoever. We spend almost a week at the pool everyday in June.

We like the casino as well. Not so big that you lose your party or spend several hours trying to locate someone. To us it is an understated elegance - no theme, %26#39;homey%26#39; type place for us...and the beds, to die for. Actually, could you do me a favor? Can you check the tag and let me know what brand they are? We actually wrote it down after our last trip, but lost the paper! (if you can remember)

We love the location - lots of fun!

Like Loveland we also love the MC- we have stayed there every one of our 14 trips sp far and will be there again Oct27th-Nov1st- we%26#39;ll be there the same time as you.We were last there in May and had no issues. Try to get a room on a higher floor if possible-also facing the strip or NYNY-as for the noise by the pool-there was some but the music helped mask it and in late oct I don%26#39;t know that the weather will be warm enough for the pool-we have been there at that time before and it is hit and miss.

As for the construction inside the casino-by then the new Mexican restaurant ';Diablo%26#39;s'; will have been open for over a month and things should be running smoothly.

According to my host- as of last Thurs (we speak often) the other casino construction was at about 98%completion. When we were there in May some of it had just been started and other areas like the high limit slot area and the MVP casino services desk were opened during our stay. The concierge club had just reopened also after being redecorated and it was beautifully done.

I am looking forward to this next trip and have no second thoughts about staying there again. We aretreated very well by the staff, the rooms are fine, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the property location is good for our needs,

Jan

BTW- we are in our early 50%26#39;s and still acting like kids!!LOL
