L@@KING for help SINGLE Gal traveling as First timer toShows

Well here is my situation! I am finally traveling to Vegas - this time ALONE but on my compnaies dime... I wanted to go with a friend before over a yr ago – didn’t work out –put the trip on a back burner - And my husband doesn%26#39;t like Vegas...

Now my work is sending me ot Vegas for a conference! Oct 8-12 – Monday – Friday - Staying at the Wynn – I hear this is very nice ANd I am very excited 

And it looks like I will be alone! ( People I work with me but I am going ahead and planning on entertainment and going single..) I think this will be fine(?)

I love shows and fun night light - BUT I do not want ot spend so much $ thatI have buyers remorse…but I want to have a good time..

So I read about the ½ price tickets - what is this ?

When do I act on this%26gt;/?

Should I buy tickets for shows ( even if it is just me) now – or wait?

I looked about tickets to see LOVE as the post made it sound great – I was surprised that the lowest ticket online was around $150 each - ugh

What shows should I Not miss?

We talked with the boss and thought that everyone can just take taxis then I read the priceline has rental cars fo r $11 @ day – sounds very good.I just need to get around for the shows and dinner and entertainment - ngiht time - will I need to rent a car?

What places are friendly to eat at alone- I know we will have group dinners but I would like to be free to do my own things too…

All suggestions welcomed!!

Wow, your company is sending you on a trip and paying for the Wynn? Lucky you!! the Wynn is one of the nicer and newer hotels and you will love it. You should be fine by yourself. And it%26#39;s VEGAS... get excited.

We don%26#39;t go to shows, so I cannot recommend any, but I would research it on this board with the search feature and then go to the 1/2 price ticket booth (other people will help you on this one)... You have to buy them on the day you want to see the show... and some of the shows will be sold out.. but if you have a list of shows you want to see, chances are you can get tickets for at least one without breaking the bank.

Have fun!

I would definitely look into the discount ticket options once you are out there. There is a 1/2 price ticket booth at Fashion Show Mall directly across the street from The Wynn. But don%26#39;t hesitate to check with the actual box offices too. If you do use a discount service, just make sure you know exactly WHERE the seat they are selling you is.

One distinct advantage you have is you are going ALONE. Often times, you can get a much better ticket when you only need one!

Just take the crosswalk from the wynn across the blvd, and the half price ticket outlet is in the front of the Fashion Show mall.

You will not get tickets to Love or Barry Manilow or Elton John. but you will definitely find one seat to many shows at a discount not necessarily half off.

Rental car, there are pluses and minuses. IF you like to drink, maybe forget the rental car this time since you are alone. You can walk or catch the duece bus up and down the strip.

There tons of people in vegas solo having fun. Enjoy the Wynn. it might be smart to avoid walking north of the wynn at night as a single woman.

Here is the site for tix4 tonight. This will tell you the locations and how it works.

There is another one at the Coke bottle near MGM.

Most of the tickets are for that day only. The selection varies day by day. They usually don%26#39;t have the top shows (Elton John, Dion, Love) available. Some of the shows are not 1/2 price- just 10/30% off.

If you can make it to the 10 o%26#39;clock showing on the 8th- the Mirage web site does show tickets are available for Love for $75.90. These are the cheapest seats but they are fine. I bought them in August and I sat in the very last row and I could see everything.

If you can%26#39;t get Love tickets- I would suggest Mystere. It is my favorite Cirque show. Again- you do not need the best seats. Do not sit near the stage- thing will be going on near and above you. Some other popular shows: Phantom, Spamalot and Mamma Mia.

The Wynn is a great hotel but it is on the north part of the strip. You will have to take a bus or cab in order to get to the main attractions and casinos. If you are O.K. with that- you will not need a car.

Do not base your decision on where to eat on the fact that you are alone. Just look for something you like and go. The fact that you are alone should have no bearing on your decision. Just about every restaurant is single friendly. I have eaten at the cheaper places- Ellis Island and In n Out but I have also eaten at Rosemary%26#39;s alone. I won%26#39;t stick to buffets, eating at the bars of restaurants or room service just because I go alone- I deserve better.

Going alone is great. You don%26#39;t have to consult with anyone when deciding what to do, where to go, where to eat, etc. It can be your very own ';selfish-me'; time. Have fun!

Thanks so much for all your infomation -

Especially about the tickets and the Mirage for LOVE seats! :)

You guys are great!

I am researching all th at you said right now!!!

Thanks!
