Christmas in Vegas

We are thinking of spending a week in Vegas arriving 22nd staying until 30th. Just a few questions -

What will the weather be like?

Will there be plenty going on then?

Any recommendations for a good restaurant to go to on Christmas Day (not necessarily for Turkey)

Will the shows still be on this week?

Thanks any other info about this time of year would be appreciated

Christmas in Vegas

It%26#39;s pretty safe to say it will not be pool weather but to say what the actual weather is, well, who knows? Last late Dec it was jacket and jeans weather, cool days in the low 50%26#39;s and 40%26#39;s and cooler nights. I know many restaurants had long waiting times on Christmas Day so make a reservation wherever it is you want to go on Christmas Day.

The shows which go dark for mid-Dec are mostly back on after Christmas. The city really starts to get busy as it gets closer to NYE. There is always plenty to do IMO, no matter what time of year! I bet there will be a M and G too!

Christmas in Vegas

The weather? expect high of 50s and 60s

There is always plenty to do in Vegas.

Some shows might be ';dark for few days before christmas, but will be back, after christmas day

Some good restaurants might be closed for christmas eve

there probably will be a M%26amp;G, but ya gotta bring gifts....lol

we were their last year a couple day%26#39;s before christmas,

it snowed in lv the weather was chilly @ nite we were on top of the strat and it was really windy and cold but my kids took a ride on that thing that goes streight up into outer space and they loved it .

go out to ethel m%26#39;s and see the lights on the cacti..

check out bellagio , add wynn ,etc they have a competiton to see who has the nicest decorations

You really can%26#39;t predict the weather in December. What happens one year has nothing to do with what happens the next year. The average high- mid 50s. But the highs have ranged from the low 70s to the low 40s! You are going to have to check a weather site just before leaving.

The Bellagio conservatory is always nicely decorated at Christmas. Caesars Palace has a big tree out in front. Downtown has its own tree and tree lighting ceremoney. The other casinos put up some decorations and may play some Christmas music. For such an over-the-top place- Vegas is really isn%26#39;t over-the-top when it comes to Christmas. Two of the most Christmas-y places I have found:

Sam%26#39;s Town- they do a very nice job of decorating their indoor park-they even used to put Santas hats on the animals.

Ethel M Cactus Garden- they put thousands of lights on the cacti and it looks beautiful after dark. They also have Santa and carolers on the week-end.

Some of the better off-strip restaurants will be closed Christmas Day- Alize, Andre%26#39;s- although they are open on Christmas Eve. Expect to pay more for Chirstmas and Christmas Eve dinners at the more expensive restaurants.

Thanks for the replys
