Continental Airline - Vegas to Sarasota

DH has just found out that rather than coming home with us from Vegas he has to go to a business meeting in Sarasota, FL.

Here is my problem being from Canada I have only flown on one american carrier and that was Delta several years ago but Continental has a flight out of Vegas at the same time as our Air Canada flight so we could all go to the airport together and just get off at separate terminals.

I can%26#39;t believe the price on their website of $140 one way (if I%26#39;m reading it correctly) not much wonder you guys can hop to Vegas so often.

Is Continental an okay carrier?

Thanks

M

Continental is our Houston home-town airline :) They%26#39;re fine!

Continental has an excellent reputation!

Your husband may even get a meal in coach - Continental is one of the few airlines that still does that for domestic flights.

I sometimes fly to LV from EWR on Contintental . I also fly EWR to MIA a few times a year on Contintental. I consider them a very good airline and I can%26#39;t think of anything negative to say about them. Well, actually I can- a three hour flight from MIA to EWR once took over 9 hours-much of it spent on the tarmac at Dulles- an unexpected stop. But they eventually did provide us with water and peanuts. But that could happen with any airline. And you can get meals or even snacks. The snack usually consists of a tiny 3/4 inch turkey sandwich(roll), a little bag of carrots and a small piece of candy. That is more than many airlines provide for a 3 hour(or longer)flight.

The only airline I fly beacsue of the cheap flights. It is a 2 hour drive for me to Houston, and they offer great prices anywhere, usually non stop for the majority of places.Never had a single problem.

FYI:

Double check with these 2 sites...

Lots of cheaper flights from Vegas to FLorida...Tampa is next to Sarasota.

Just checked with DH (who is sitting on the chesterfield killing himself laughing at his favorite show ';According to Jim';) says he prefers to fly directly into Sarasota because after a week in Vegas he maybe in no condition to drive (lol) so that rules out Southwest and Spirit that only go into Tampa but thanks for the links I never had been on their sites before.

Glad to hear Continental is reputable and might actually have some food, Air Canada sells small subs for $5 but depending on the flight they run out half way down the aisle or only have veggie subs left.

You%26#39;ll both love the Sarasota airport. It%26#39;s small, easy to negotiate and close to town, hotels and beaches.

Continental is a good airline. If their schedule doesn%26#39;t work exactly, you might also look at AirTran; they, too, fly into Sarasota and have great one-way prices.
