Trip Report 9/8-9/15 - Prelude to the Sequel

Hey Everybody,

Well I am less than 48 hours removed from my return from my second Vegas trip in one month. The premise this time was for business but I was able to extend the trip a few days. However, a bit of jetlag combined with a cold that I apparently caught during the flight home. So while I%26#39;m not quite up to contributing what will likely be a multi-part trip report, I can provide a few snapshots for now.

- I stayed at the Riviera for the job then later moved over to Bill%26#39;s Gambling Hall (aka the unofficial and future Flamingo South Tower). The Riv is what it is; it just isn%26#39;t for me. On the other hand, Bill%26#39;s was perfect for me in almost every way.

- I got to see about 90% of the casinos and other sights that I wanted to see. Two significant ones that I missed - The Wynn as well as the Pinball Hall of Fame - couldn%26#39;t be more opposite from each other.

- The shuttles to off-Strip casinos aren%26#39;t bad. However, taking the Deuce bus from Fremont Street at midnight can be.

- I managed to win a little money in the casino this time! I also managed to lose some as well... literally.

- I got to shake the hand of not one but *three* celebrities! (OK, so they%26#39;re not exactly ';Hollywood'; celebrities... lol)

I can say that I%26#39;ve definitely had my fill of Vegas until I return next summer. I look forward to fleshing out the details for you all sometime later this week.

Looking forward to reading all about it. Sounds very interesting......

Thanks for the prelude tony. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Bills.

Anywhere we can read about the Flamingo South Tower? (I know you said unofficial, just curious)

and who%26#39;s hands did you shake? (or do I have to wait for the TR?)

Thanks for the interest, everyone!

Lowrance, the reference to Bill%26#39;s being the Flamingo South Tower is more like a joke to myself. :) It%26#39;s interesting to me that the Barbary Coast became a (Bill) Harrah property yet it isn%26#39;t acknowledged directly. (Check out the fun book, though.) Although I love the place, it does seem imminent that it will be closed down to make way for an expansion of the Flamingo. I just don%26#39;t have any official ';proof'; of when this will happen.

And yeah Lowrance, for the ';juicy'; details, you%26#39;ll have to wait for the TR! LOL

Nice start Tony. You have caught my interest. Looking forward to more. In regards to Bill%26#39;s, I did read on Harrah%26#39;s site (buried in the pages of the help section), that Bills and their other property, IP

would eventually be acknowledged as one of their properties by

having them both be part of the total rewards program. However, there is no date in sight, as they mention this will take them quite

a bit of time. We shall see.....could takes months or years IMO.

Oohhh wich celebs did you shake hands with?? Can%26#39;t wait to read the TR

Can%26#39;t wait for the TR! And.........who%26#39;d %26#39;ya see and shake hands with????? We%26#39;re anxious here!!

lol, #@%! these posters who give us a tease so that we HAVE to read their TRs to find out who??? (nice job!)
