I am booked at the new Planet Hollywood for sometime in November but I am considering if I should switch to the Rio. I love the Rio. I have stayed there so many times but the rates are quite high lately. Just got a somewhat good deal to stay but not sure if I should cancel out on the Planet Hollywood since it%26#39;s all done over and new stuff added. Can I get some help in making up my mind?
Which hotel?
I%26#39;ll be staying at the PH for the first time in November, i%26#39;m looking forward to it. However if you love the Rio and have a good deal why not switch.
Which hotel?
younker, I have stayed at neither, but here is a way to look at it. Try something new. I have stayed at Bill%26#39;s the last 2 trips and never DT, so I will try 3 different hotels, 1 is DT, just to get a feel for something different. Since I live close enough hoping to be able to get there at least 4 times a year so I want to have some personal knowledge of a few hotels.
Just a thought.
My opinion is that you try something new. When is official opening for PH? September 28th was last I read...
I haven%26#39;t stayed at either but am remembering a post recently (I think) by bridge, and even though she liked the Rio in the past said the room was really worn looking.
Since PH is esentially new, I would choose it (if it were me) and also be on the strip vs. the Rio off-strip location.
I have stayed at both and I would never stay at Rio again unless it was free. The room we were given was very run down. Its kinda sad because I love this casino.
PH rooms were much nicer in my opinion.
Have stayed at PH 3 times, but never at the Rio. I would also suggest trying something new as, you never know, you might prefer it.
The official opening of PH has been put back to mid November, the 17th I think.
Have stayed at both twice but not since Aladdin became PH. Love them both. I would go with PH this time to try something new and different as others have mentioned, esp if Rio%26#39;s rates are higher that what you%26#39;re used to paying there. PH has, arguably, the city%26#39;s best buffet plus it%26#39;s the only place (under previous mgmt) where I%26#39;ve managed to score Strip-view rooms without asking.
You don%26#39;t say your age or what you look for ina hotel, so it%26#39;s difficult to advise you as opposed to just expressing our own personal taste. Like you, I%26#39;ve stayed at Rio and liked it. If you want a more hip, trendy vibe, PH is probably a good idea. Keep in mind though, ';all done over and new stuff added'; generally means ';everything%26#39;s going to cost more.';
Personally, I love the new vibe of PH. Gone is the cheesy Aladdin decor and the new decor is fun, but not over the top. I like the vibe of the casino (great music) and you can%26#39;t beat the rooms for fountain views and great bathrooms. And the added bonus of centralized location and proximity to Miracle Mile Shops (ABC store is great) really help.
Each Vegas trip I intend to change it up, but end back at PH. There%26#39;s something about it that just works for me.
ph all the way younker, you%26#39;ll be hooked it%26#39;s really nice every thing is close buy the mall has a liquor stor , their%26#39;s pf chang%26#39;s etc..
ellis island is right out the back door.
