First Time to Vegas, Stratosphere, liquor store near by?

I am taking my wife to Vegas for her b-day next month Aug 23-27 and will be staying at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. I need to know if we are near other casinos, how far from the main strip area? down town? and most importantly where is the liqor store? lol

I don%26#39;t know about a liquor store but the Strat is kinda by itself. Closest casino hotel is Sahara on the other side of the street. The Strat is sort of between the strip and downtown. If you%26#39;re renting a car that%26#39;s fine but if not, taxi%26#39;s and public transportation would be your options.

Go towards the Sahara and you will find a liquor store. Most store have an ABC License also. I would not recommend walking late @ night though!

You are close to CC and downtown, but in Aug the heat will get you! You can catch the duce and go downtown or up the strip.

Free slot play? You can find coupons for $20 play if you spend $10, not too many ';free'; plays around unless to have a promo.

Thanks, I know it will be hot I go to the carribean alot even in the summer so I know what to expect. I would probably bus or cab wherever I go. I`m just trying to get my bearings on where we are and where everything else is. Does anyone have a good map of the area? So the liquor store is pretty much next to the sahara?

I would not recommend walking late @ night though!

Give me a break. We stayed there for a week and never once felt unsafe walking to and from Stratophere even in the middle of the night. Even walked across the street to Carl%26#39;s JR for a late night snack without being shot or mugged.

Strat is a loner but a 2 dollar ride on the Deuce will take you to center strip in just a few minutes. There%26#39;s no shortage of liquor stores between center strip and the Strat.

Be advised, Strat charges a 5 dollar a day ';resort fee'; that they will collect on check in. This entitles you to a book full of crappy coupons and free rides up the tower between 10a-2pm.

Thanks for all the help, that gives me an idea of where we are adn where we can easily get to. This may be a really stupid question but is it illegal to walk around with an open alcohol container outside? I would think so but for some reason I thought i heard other wise.
